today?

Today was a happy AND a touching day. I happen to have so many realizations that I did not see long ago.

A few hours ago when I was on my way home (all sweaty from our "hanay" -i'm a cadette now!-)while riding on the second and last jeepney ride, two elementary girls who appear to be really good friends..best friends to be exact..were having the typical conversation. Unfortunately, the word 'typical' doesn't seem to fit that statement, as one of them is mute.*not so typical eh?* I was wondering why the other girl was making weird sounds as if to indicate no permission to speak..and indeed, she is incapable of doing so. it broke my heart to see her wearing slippers instead of shoes, and how "madungis" she looks; yet her smile was unfailing. During the entire ride they're both happy. There were constant giggles, but somehow I can sense the fact that she struggles to say something yet its only with her hands that she could 'speak'.

When the other girl (her friend-who could talk normally) reached her home, not only did she bid her goodbye, but she(the mute one) asked for a goodbye kiss and so her friend gave her one. Even as the jeep rode away, the girl was waving goodbye to her friend. Shucks! if you were in my shoes it would just leave a lasting smile on your face.

Now, it just makes me realize how blessed I am to have so many friends who accept me despite my flaws..that these flaws I have are only minor and I have no reason to complain about things or traits that I don't have. I was designed this way so I have to make the most out of it.
